Acts 17:11 · The Berean Way
About BeRean
Fifteen minutes to search it out. A lifetime to defend it.
What is BeRean?
BeRean is an intentional biblical study workspace named after the believers in the ancient city of Berea, who were commended in the book of Acts because they “received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so” (Acts 17:11).
In a culture saturated with brief hot takes, surface-level summaries, and passive consumption, BeRean offers an environment designed for deliberate investigation. We combine focused, timed study sessions with primary-text Scripture lookup and community exegesis to encourage students of the Bible to test what they are taught directly against the biblical text.
Why BeRean Exists
Conviction is forged through personal study, not borrowed commentary. When we rely solely on secondary opinions, we lose the habit of searching the Scriptures for ourselves.
BeRean was created to recover the discipline of active textual examination. By presenting specific methodological angles and difficult textual tensions, BeRean invites you to open the text, examine the cross-references, weigh the historical and literary context, and articulate your own comprehension with clarity and rigor.
A More Intentional Study Experience
Unconstrained time often leads to digital distraction and aimless scrolling. Conversely, artificial pressure without structure yields rushed conclusions.
BeRean establishes a focused, 15-minute search window symbolized by our visual candle timer. When you commit to a topic, the clock begins. For fifteen minutes, your objective is single-minded: search the Scriptures, compare relevant passages, take notes, and analyze the prompt. Once the candle gutters out, the research window closes, and you are invited to write out what you found and what you now believe.
